Job Summary

Army Training Centre Pirbright (ATC(P)) is a dynamic and fast-paced military training establishment responsible for delivering initial military training to Army recruits. We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrative Officer to join the Information Hub (IHUB) team.

Reporting to the Information Support Officer (ISO), you will play a key role in supporting the effective management of information and digital services across the unit. Working closely with the Senior Information Officer (SIO), Information Manager (IMgr) and Information Support Officer (ISO), you will help ensure that information, records, IT assets, and collaborative working tools are managed efficiently and in accordance with MOD policies and procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised administrator with strong IT skills who enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders and contributing to the smooth running of a busy organisation.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job Description

Main Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the SharePoint Team Site for ATC(P).
  • Account for all ModNET assets for Alexander Barracks.
  • Account for all Communication Equipment for Alexander Barracks.
  • Advise on the effective use of IT applications available within the unit.
  • Advise users on the advantages and capabilities of collaborative working.
  • Manage unit electronic Ways of Working in accordance with local IM plan.
  • Where delegated by the Information Support Manager (ISM) managing records.
  • Assist with all MODNET moves and infrastructure & act as Authorised Demander and Local Security Officer.
  • Advise on ad hoc IT queries as they arise.
  • Assist in management, control, and administration of hardware and removable media.
  • Act as 'Training Administration Finance Management Information System (TAFMIS) Manager creating and managing accounts.
  • Assist with all contractors on site dealing with telecommunications and electrical works relating to IT Infrastructure hardware.
  • Carry out duties commensurate with the appointment and MOD Civil Service grade required by Line Manager or Chain of Command.

Person Specification

Essential Skills Criteria:

  • Good administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to maintain accurate records and work with attention to detail.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of SharePoint administration or content management.
  • Previous experience in information management, records management, or IT administration.
  • Knowledge of MODNET, Defence digital systems, or military administrative processes.
  • Experience of asset management or maintaining equipment inventories.
  • An understanding of data protection, information security, and information management principles.
