Job Summary
The British Army protects the United Kingdom’s interests at home and abroad, providing a safe and secure environment in which all British citizens can live and prosper. The Army is supported by a large workforce of MOD Civil Servants. This civilian workforce provides a vast range of roles such as teachers, firefighters and psychologists to logisticians, financiers, project and programme managers and policy staff all of whom enable the Army to deliver its core outputs.
Headquarters 2nd Medical Group, which falls under Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC), is responsible for force generating, preparing and commanding deployed hospital care and specialist clinical capabilities in support of worldwide commitments with Allies and partners. The Group commands nine Multi-Role Medical Regiments, which provide and deliver primary and secondary healthcare. They recruit, retain, train and generate specialist medical capability Force Elements (FEs) to support operations overseas and within the UK, while maintaining interoperability and driving innovation through Warfare Development (WARDEV).
This post is part of 243 Multi-Role Medical Regiment located in Keynsham, Bristol. They report to the Unit’s Quartermaster and responsible for the control and daily maintenance of the stores and equipment held in within the Unit, from both military and civilian sources. They’re responsible for the documentary accounting for all items held, ensuring equipment etc is recorded and maintained to high standard, ready for use.
Please note: This role involves regular manual handling activities, including lifting items and carrying stock and equipment, loading and unloading vehicles, and placing and retrieving items from storage shelving, including shelving above head height. All manual handling activities are undertaken in accordance with Health and Safety procedures.

Job Description
This post will work closely with civilian and military colleagues, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely supply of equipment and materials. Full training will be provided on using MOD systems for stock control and inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control and oversee all types of stores, equipment and clothing held on the following accounts:
- Unit Equipment Table
- Medical Equipment Table
- Fuels, Lubricants and Industrial Gases
- Unit Spares Account
- Special Tools and Equipment
- Receipt and dispose of stores in accordance with DLF (Defence Logistic Framework) and current regulations.
- Issue and receive stores and equipment in accordance with DLF and current regulations.
- Maintain an up to date working knowledge of systems such as MJDI, JAMES, MyHR, and CHURCHILL.
- Complete all issue vouchers and accounts documentation.
- Clearance of receipt vouchers.
- Ensure all items leaving or returning to the stores are correctly accounted for. Ensure all stores and equipment on charge, being stored, issued and/or received are clean and serviceable.
- Locate stores in the correct storage area and in such a way that it will not present a danger to personnel in the storage area.
- Present equipment for scheduled inspections in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Comply with all relevant Health and Safety at Work Act regulations and MOD/Unit policies.
- Liaise with outside agencies and contractors regarding maintenance, repair and calibration of unit equipment.

Person Specification
Essential Skills Required:
- Experience working in a stores, logistics, warehouse, administration or customer service environment, with the ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to build positive working relationships, manage competing priorities and adapt to changing demands in a busy environment.
- Understanding of the importance of health and safety procedures, including manual handling, alongside a reliable and responsible approach to maintaining accurate records and handling equipment.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working within a military unit environment.
