Role Responsibilities
Working in this role, you will be part of a team responsible for operating and maintaining the Dŵr Cymru underground water network.
- Help resolve possible or actual problems on the network and regarding leaks to ensure water supply is maintained and any customer inconvenience is minimized.
- Respond to and resolve issues raised by customers and the public, collaborating with internal departments and contract partners when necessary.
- Ensure Dŵr Cymru leakage targets are met by using various leak detection and reduction techniques.
- Follow all company Health and Safety procedures, taking responsibility for your own health and safety and maintaining a duty of care towards colleagues, customers, and the public.
- Manage challenging situations in a friendly, positive, and professional manner, always striving for timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate records and update information across various IT systems daily.
- Represent Dŵr Cymru throughout the project lifecycle, supporting partners through development, planning, approval, and statutory project processes.
- Organize and prioritize your workload effectively, working with minimal supervision and managing competing priorities within your area of responsibility.
- Foster effective working relationships with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders to support the achievement of operational goals.
- Support continuous improvement in network performance through audits, investigations, and recommendations.
- Perform any other duties required to meet business needs.
Required Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
Experience
- Experience in providing high-quality customer service.
- Experience in working as part of a team to resolve problems.
Qualifications
- Current and valid full driving license.
- TGAU Grade C or higher in English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualification or relevant experience in engineering, utilities, environmental, water operations, or technical disciplines.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of the water industry.
- Ability to communicate effectively, listen actively, and respond appropriately to resolve problems.
- Understanding of the importance of seeking feedback and experiences from others to understand different problem-solving methods.
- Ability to foster and maintain positive relationships with internal departments, company partners, and contractors.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, sometimes in challenging circumstances.
- Good IT skills, including the use of Microsoft packages and company internal systems, such as operating systems, mapping, and data management like GIS, along with industry-specific software (e.g., PMAC, LIBRA, and LMARS).

Job Details
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, and Friday, 8:00am to 3:30pm.
On-call Duty: Participation in an on-call rota as part of this role is required after completing training (1 week in every 5).
Location: Primarily an on-site role with minimal office work.
Vehicle: A company vehicle is provided for business use.
Additional Information:
Minimal office work will be part of the role, with most of your time spent supporting operational activities in the field. A company vehicle is provided.
