About Woodbury House
Woodbury House is seeking an Art Consultant to join and help build the gallery's New Business team. This role is the front line of how the gallery wins and develops new collectors: responding to enquiries, qualifying genuine opportunities, building relationships, and, working directly alongside the Sales Director, turning interest into sales and long-term collectors.
Woodbury House is a contemporary art gallery based in Mayfair, London and Dubai, UAE, specialising in street art and graffiti art. Founded in 2014, the gallery has developed an international reputation for working with pioneering and historically significant artists from the street art movement. The gallery represents and works with internationally recognised artists including Blek le Rat, Richard Hambleton, Lee Quinones, DEFER, Gary Stranger, Torrick "TOXIC" Ablack and Swoon, while also curating exhibitions that explore the evolution of street art from its origins on the streets to its place within major collections, galleries and museums worldwide.
Operating from our flagship gallery in Mayfair, Woodbury House provides collectors with a highly personalised experience through exhibitions, private appointments, collector events and tailored acquisition guidance. Our approach to selling reflects that: consultative, relationship-led and built on trust, never pressure.
As the gallery continues to grow, we are building a dedicated New Business team, and we are looking for an Art Consultant to take ownership of the first stage of the collector journey and grow with us into managing and closing their own client relationships.
The Role
This is a hands-on sales role at the front of the gallery's growth. The successful candidate will take ownership of new enquiries, respond quickly and professionally, qualify genuine buying potential, and develop those relationships into sales, working directly alongside the Sales Director, one-to-one, on the higher-value conversations and closing.
Woodbury House generates a strong and growing flow of new enquiries through paid media, exhibitions and referrals. This role ensures that each of them is handled properly: contacted quickly, understood, nurtured, and progressed, so nothing is lost and the strongest opportunities are developed to their full potential.
This is a genuine ground-floor opportunity in a scaling division. You will learn directly from experienced, high-value sales conversations, and as your knowledge, confidence and results develop, you will take on more ownership, managing, nurturing and closing your own client relationships. There is a clear, merit-based path to progress to Senior Art Consultant and Client Account Manager.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Sales Environment at Woodbury House
Selling at Woodbury House is consultative and relationship-led, a long way from high-pressure or volume sales. We work with serious collectors and historically significant artists, and the standard is set accordingly: understand first, recommend second, and never push. Credibility and trust are the assets, and they are built through knowledge, judgement and genuine client care. This is a luxury, advisory environment, and the way we sell protects the reputation that the gallery is built on. Success here is measured by the quality and progression of the opportunities you create and the relationships you build, not by the number of calls you make.

Working Pattern
This is an in-house role, five days a week, based at the gallery. The work is the gallery: the exhibitions, the artists, the collectors, and the team are all here, and the first year of this role is about learning the business, the artists, and the market up close. Not every hour is spent at a desk. Client meetings, viewings and collector events will take you out of the gallery. But this is a gallery-based role, not remote, because the activity is created in the gallery.
Gallery opening hours, which frame the working day:
- Monday to Thursday: 10:00 to 18:00
- Friday: 10:00 to 17:00
- Private view evenings around exhibitions
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven sales ability, with a track record of building relationships and converting interest into results
- A confident, warm and articulate communicator, in person, on the phone and in writing
- Strong organisational discipline: you follow up, you prioritise well, and you do not let opportunities slip
- Comfortable working from a CRM and keeping it accurate
- Commercially minded, able to spot a genuine opportunity and develop it
- Self-motivated and target-driven, with the resilience a sales role requires
Beneficial
- Experience selling to discerning or high-net-worth clients

- Experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM and sales tools
- A genuine interest in art, design or culture
Prior experience in the art world is not essential. The artists, the market and the systems can be taught to the right salesperson. What matters most is genuine sales ability, the discipline to properly work a pipeline, and the character to build trust with serious collectors. We are looking for someone hungry to build a career, take pride in their work, and grow with a scaling division.
