Lead Designer

In the role of Lead Designer at Clokkemaker, we are looking for someone full of big, brilliant, creative, and random ideas. Someone who can develop ideas into anything from campaign and communication platforms and concepts to events, stunts, product experiences, and more, into credible and irresistible client-facing pitches and proposals. You will have a track record of creating impact ‘in real life’ – developing ideas that drive word of mouth, publicity, and shared experiences; in person, online, and in culture. You should be comfortable owning the end-to-end development of creative products and proposals, take pride in their own high standards and those of the wider team and agency, and should have experience training, mentoring, developing, and collaborating with others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of multi-disciplinary design projects.
  • Have strong technical skills to lead the development of projects both internally and externally.
  • Partner with the team to develop creative solutions that answer and exceed client briefs.
  • Plan and develop the executions of design solutions for online, social, experiential, and entertainment.
  • Review design briefs and add value to ensure the team has the appropriate information and direction.
  • Ensure standards for creative deliverables are maintained through to completion (concepts, layouts, final mechanicals, etc.).
  • Work with the Project Management team to respond quickly to business and client needs (e.g. short timescale projects, last-minute requests, and last-minute changes).
  • Present creative recommendations to internal and external clients.
  • Continually develop and challenge project delivery to improve our performance and provide positive challenges to your team to innovate and arrive at value-driven designs.
  • Contribute to the development of standards and procedures set by the Creative Director and Design Director.
  • Communicate with the Project Manager and respective teams ensuring project deliverables are met.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
