About The Role
An Art Teacher is required for a full-time, long-term cover position at an SEMH school in South Birmingham, offering a daily rate of £174 to £241. This role involves teaching small Key Stage 4 classes within a supportive Alternative Provision, where students have previously disengaged from mainstream education. The school provides excellent resources and strong leadership support. Are you a qualified Art Teacher looking for a rewarding new opportunity? Do you have a passion for using art and creativity to help young people overcome social and academic barriers? This welcoming Alternative Provision is looking for a QTS Art Teacher to provide long-term cover, teaching small classes of Key Stage 4 students who have struggled to engage in mainstream education.
As an Art Teacher at this school you will have access to a range of resources, and receive outstanding support from a dynamic leadership team. This role requires an Art Teacher who is able to think outside the box, be creative, and inspire an interest in art. The ability to work with challenging behaviours and SEMH needs is essential for this role, however students are generally respectful to staff and eager to learn. This role is much more than a standard Art Teacher position, you will become part of a compassionate, caring, and dedicated team who are committed to ensuring that every child gets a second chance.

Job Role
- Teaching Art to students with SEMH needs.
- Planning and delivering engaging Art lessons for small classes.
- Adapting Art lessons to meet the individual needs and abilities of students.
- Working closely with an outstanding team of teachers and TAs.
- Building positive relationships with students and encouraging participation.
- Supporting students to overcome academic, social and emotional barriers.
- Creating a safe, welcoming and positive learning environment.
- Using Art and creative activities to develop confidence, independence and self-expression.
