Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on Art Technician to join our vibrant Art Department. Whether you are a recent Art graduate looking to keep your creative passion alive while building a meaningful career, or a skilled creative practitioner with A-Level Art (or equivalent), this is an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in a thriving school culture.
This role is much more than managing supplies, it is about supporting a living, breathing creative space where experimentation and refining ideas are part of the artistic process. While ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the department, you will have the opportunity to share your technical expertise directly with students and teachers, bringing fresh creative energy into the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing technical assistance in the classroom, demonstrating practical making techniques across mediums such as fine art, printmaking or digital media and helping students troubleshoot their work.
- Taking the lead in transforming school spaces into galleries, creating eye-catching displays and public exhibitions that celebrate the students’ journey from blank canvas to a finished masterpiece.
- Maintaining well-organised preparation rooms, managing stock, materials and equipment and ensuring classrooms are fully equipped and ready for learning.
- Undertaking first line inspection of machines and workshop tools, upholding safe workshop procedures across the department.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
