Job Purpose

The Artic Flat Trailer Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of steel and other flatbed cargo, ensuring full compliance with road transport legislation and company safety standards. This role requires professionalism, strong load security knowledge, and a commitment to high service standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Transport Operations

  • Operate articulated (CE) vehicles with flatbed trailers.
  • Transport steel and other flatbed cargo safely and efficiently.
  • Plan and follow assigned delivery routes across Ireland and the UK.
  • Ensure loads are secured correctly in line with load restraint regulations.

Loading & Safety

  • Safely load and unload materials where required.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of load restraint techniques.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
  • Comply with driver hours, tachograph regulations, and all transport legislation.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Provide professional and courteous service at all delivery and collection points.
  • Complete delivery paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Report delays, issues, or incidents to management promptly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

Essential

  • Valid CE Driving Licence.
  • CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
  • Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Experience driving articulated flatbed trailers.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
