Google Gemini Gems Developer / AI Engineer – SC Cleared

Contract: Initial engagement to design and build 10 custom Gemini Gems

Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

Location: Hybrid / Remote – UK

Engagement: Contract

We are looking for an SC Cleared Google Gemini specialist / AI Engineer to design, build and configure 10 custom Google Gemini Gems for use within a secure government environment.

The engagement will focus on taking defined business and user requirements and turning them into reliable, reusable Gems that support specific workflows and use cases. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who understands not only Gemini, but how to design effective AI assistants for use within a controlled enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build 10 bespoke Gemini Gems against agreed use cases.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements, workflows and expected outcomes.
  • Develop and optimise system instructions, prompts, context and Gem behaviour.
  • Configure Gems to produce consistent, high-quality and appropriately structured outputs.
  • Establish appropriate AI guardrails and controls for use within an SC-cleared environment.
  • Test Gems against expected and edge-case scenarios, identifying hallucination, accuracy and reliability issues.
  • Iterate based on user feedback and testing.
  • Document Gem configuration, intended use, limitations and operating guidance.
  • Support knowledge transfer to the internal team so Gems can be maintained and evolved after delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
