AI Software Engineer

Salary: £60,000 – £86,300 per annum, depending on experience (+ 10% bonus)

Location: Oxford, UK

Working pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the Oxford office

We’re looking for an experienced AI Software Engineer to join a growing software development team and play a key role in building innovative, intelligent products and internal solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced AI engineer who enjoys taking ideas from concept through to production. You’ll design and develop robust AI-powered services using Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and multi-agent orchestration, helping to deliver practical AI capabilities that create genuine value for users.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to influence technical direction, make architectural decisions, mentor other engineers and champion best practices in AI-assisted software development.

The Role

You’ll take end-to-end ownership of AI features, working closely with software engineers, product managers and stakeholders to turn ideas into scalable, reliable solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing AI solutions from concept through to deployment.
  • Building and maintaining RAG pipelines and agentic AI systems for complex, multi-step tasks.
  • Developing robust evaluation approaches to measure and improve AI solution quality.
  • Identifying and evaluating new data sources and designing scalable data pipelines.
  • Deploying and scaling AI solutions using AWS cloud infrastructure, including serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda.
  • Monitoring AI solutions in production and continuously improving their performance and accuracy.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider software engineering team and stakeholders to develop effective AI-powered products.
  • Providing technical leadership and contributing to architectural decisions.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Championing innovation, continuous learning and operational excellence across the engineering team.
  • Promoting effective use of AI-assisted engineering tools and practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
