About the Client
We are supporting a long established international software business with a large UK engineering organisation. They build industry specific software used by tens of thousands of customers across distribution, automotive, retail and rental, and they have been doing it for decades.
They are now building out a core AI engineering capability and putting AI into their products at pace. This is a competitive market and their rivals are pushing AI first products out quickly, so these are hires that matter to the business rather than an innovation side project.
The Role, Software / AI Engineer
Hands on product engineering in a team led by an architect and a team lead, based out of their Hungerford office.
You will work across the full stack, React based front end, C# and.NET APIs, SQL Server and Postgres behind it, hosted on Azure or AWS. Alongside that you will be integrating large language models directly into the product.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
One of the products in scope is a garage management system on the automotive side of the business, with the rental side also in focus.
What They Mean by AI Experience
Worth being direct about this, because it is the main thing they screen on.
They are not looking for people whose AI experience is using Claude, Cursor or Copilot to write code faster. That is assumed and it is part of how the team works day to day, but on its own it will not get you through the door.
They want engineers who have integrated LLMs into a live product or solution. If you have built something where a model is doing real work in front of customers, that is the conversation they want to have.
On Level
They are open on this. There are seats at engineer, senior and lead level and they will place the right person at the right level rather than working to a fixed job title. Salary goes up to £80,000 for the more senior end.
They are also open on how long you have been working with AI specifically. The tooling is recent and they know the pool is shallow. A couple of years is a great starting point, but strong evidence of real product work counts for more than time served.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain full stack features, front end through API to database
- Integrate large language models into live product functionality
- Design and implement guardrails around model behaviour and output
- Work on performance, scalability and security across the platform
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and engineering standards
- Work closely with the architect, team lead and wider engineering team
