AI Engineer

Hybrid role in Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary - up to 100k.

We’re looking for an experienced AI Engineer to help integrate and develop AI technologies across innovative software products.
You’ll work closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers and other stakeholders to take AI concepts from research and prototyping through to production, helping identify new opportunities where AI can improve products and user experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing, developing and integrating AI/ML solutions into products
  • Working with LLMs, NLP and machine learning models
  • Researching and evaluating emerging AI technologies
  • Prototyping new AI-driven features and taking them into production
  • Optimising AI models and ensuring solutions are scalable and reliable
  • Working closely with backend and product teams
  • Translating business requirements into practical AI solutions
  • Documenting AI workflows and sharing knowledge across the wider team
  • Communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Taking ownership of AI projects from concept through to delivery

What We’re Looking For

  • Commercial experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions
  • Strong Python skills
  • Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch or similar
  • Strong understanding of Machine Learning, NLP and LLMs
  • Backend engineering experience with Python and/or Node.js
  • Experience integrating AI models into software products
  • Familiarity with MLOps, Git and modern software development practices
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
