AI Engineer / AI Solutions Specialist
North Sheffield | Hybrid (3 days onsite) | Permanent
Artificial Intelligence is changing the way businesses operate. This is your opportunity to be the person who helps shape that journey.
Elevation Tech & Transformation are recruiting an AI Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business that has already begun experimenting with AI and is now ready to take the next step.
Rather than inheriting an established AI function, you'll have the opportunity to help define it.
Working closely with IT, Data Operations and stakeholders across the business, you'll build the AI roadmap, identify high-value use cases and deliver practical AI solutions that improve business processes, support decision making and create genuine operational value.
This is a rare opportunity to influence strategy while remaining hands-on with the latest AI technologies.
What you'll be doing
- Developing the organisation's AI roadmap and helping shape its long-term AI strategy
- Designing and building AI applications, assistants and workflow automation tools
- Creating Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using internal business data
- Working with stakeholders to identify opportunities where AI can reduce complexity and improve efficiency
- Designing scalable AI architecture and governance frameworks
- Integrating AI solutions with existing business systems including PostgreSQL, ERP, CRM and Microsoft technologies
- Helping introduce AI best practice across the wider technology team through knowledge sharing and collaboration

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
