Lead AI Engineer

Contract type/Location: Near London ideally, flexible for the right candidate

We're hiring a Lead AI Engineer to join the Financial Services and insurance focused data and AI consulting practice of one of the biggest companies in the world.

This is a hands on delivery role sitting at the centre of some genuinely exciting work: building AI/ML solutions that support large scale insurance platform builds (think policy admin, claims systems) as well as standalone AI innovation projects where clients want to do something new in a specific part of their business.

What you'll be doing:

  • Owning hands on delivery of AI/ML solutions built specifically on Azure ML and AI Foundry, this needs to be a genuine strength, not something you've used once
  • Working across AWS as the secondary platform, breadth across services matters more than deep expertise in any single tool
  • Leading technical delivery within client engagement teams, working alongside consultants embedded on insurance sector projects
  • Supporting both platform adjacent data/AI workstreams (running alongside claims and policy admin builds) and standalone innovation engagements
  • Flexing with fast moving client demand, this work can move quickly or sit quieter for a few months at a time, so you'll need to be comfortable with that rhythm

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
