Lead AI Engineer / Head of AI
Join a major Energy & Trading firm operating across physical and derivatives markets, with exposure to refineries, plants and renewable energy assets. You’ll lead an existing team of 3 AI Engineers and act as the senior AI SME across the business, working directly with traders, commercial teams, technology and senior leadership. This is much more than an AI engineering role. You’ll help define how AI is used across the entire organisation, from Front Office trading and physical asset optimisation through to Risk, Operations and Back Office.
Lead AI Engineer | Up to £900/Day OUTside IR35 | Multi year contract
The business already has numerous AI ideas, but many are focused on automation. Your role will be to push the thinking further — identifying where AI can fundamentally change how the business operates, makes decisions and generates revenue.

- 💰 Paying up to £900/Day Outside IR35

You’ll have significant exposure to Energy Trading, Front Office, Physical Assets, Quant/ML, Generative AI, LLMs, AI Agents, Strategy and senior stakeholder engagement.
With Energy markets driven by huge volumes of constantly changing data — prices, weather, demand, renewable generation, plant availability, outages, fuel costs and market conditions. As the Lead AI Engineer you will help influence how AI can impact:
