Senior AI Engineer | London | Commodities Trading | Outside IR35
We're partnering with a global commodities trading firm looking for a Senior AI Engineer to help deliver next-generation AI solutions across the business.
This is a hands-on engineering role sitting at the intersection of AI, software engineering, and business transformation. You'll work directly with stakeholders to design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation solutions that create measurable business impact.
The role will involve taking AI prototypes from concept through to production, building applications on top of enterprise data platforms, developing LLM-powered workflows, implementing RAG solutions, and creating tools that improve decision-making and operational efficiency across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy AI-powered applications, LLM workflows, and agentic AI solutions.
- Build production-grade applications and integrations using modern engineering frameworks.
- Develop RAG pipelines, vector database integrations, and AI automation workflows.
- Work across Python, React, Node.js, and cloud technologies to deliver scalable solutions.
- Partner directly with business teams to identify opportunities where AI can improve processes.
- Own solutions end-to-end, from architecture and development through to deployment and optimisation.

Key Experience:
- Software engineering experience within financial services, commodities, or similar.
- Strong Python and full-stack development experience (React, Node.js, PostgreSQL).
- Experience building APIs, integrations, data pipelines, and cloud-native applications.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Practical experience with LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, AI agents, or AI automation.
- Strong understanding of software delivery, production ownership, and enterprise engineering practices.
