Our Power team delivers high-value electrical infrastructure projects for some of the most demanding clients in the sector – from hyperscale data centre operators to major industrial and grid clients. We are building a team of exceptional project management professionals who can drive complex programmes from award through to energisation, and we want people who take real ownership of their projects.
SCOPE OF ROLE
The AI Solutions Engineer works directly with end users to build and deliver AI use cases across JSM, under the direction of the Change & Business Improvement Lead. This is a hands-on, technical role at the heart of the AI adoption programme.

- Integrate your work into the AI programme and wider IT activity.
General Duties
- Building AI Use Cases
- Design and build complex AI use cases: multi-step agents, automated workflows and prompt chains using Claude (including Claude Code and Cowork).
- Build integrations and connectors (for example MCP connectors and APIs) that link to line-of-business systems and data.
- Write and maintain scripts and lightweight tooling to support use cases and automate manual steps.
- Test, evaluate and harden use cases before release, with sensible error handling and controls.
- Document the builds so they can be supported, reused and handed over.

Working with End Users
- Work directly with end users to understand their tasks and shape use cases around real pinch points.
- Provide support for adoption of what you build, helping users get comfortable and get value.
- Run hands-on sessions, clinics and showcases to spread proven ways of working.
- Gather feedback from users and feed it back into the use case pipeline.

Supporting the Pipeline and AI Programme
- Support the AI Use Case Catalogue: help capture intake, work up prioritised cases and gather benefits evidence.
- Support the department action plan and the licensing waves under the direction of the Change & Business Improvement Lead.
- Support the monthly adoption measurement cycle: help rebuild scores, tiers and movers and refresh the supporting analysis.
- Follow AI governance in day-to-day work: apply the RACI, human-in-the-loop controls and limitations documentation set for the AI programme.
How You'll Succeed
Skills – Essential
- Highly motivated and able to work under guidance but with minimal supervision.
- Programming and scripting ability (for example Python), able to build, integrate and debug.
- Able to build APIs, to enable data handling through system connections.
- Able to apply systems & software engineering approaches and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to turn a business problem into a working AI based solution.
- Clear communicator, comfortable working directly with non-technical end users.

Skills – Desirable
- Exposure to project management, software development lifecycle, agile delivery.
- Experience in the construction, utilities or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience in a Private Equity-backed environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Ideally a degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
- Certifications in AI or machine learning, cloud platforms, or other relevant technical areas.
- Hands-on experience building with AI or other large language model platforms: prompt engineering, agentic tools and use-case shaping (Claude ecosystem preferred, including Claude Code, Cowork and MCP connectors).
- Member of, or desire to be a member of, an appropriate professional body or society.
