Finatal is partnering with a leading mid-market private equity investment firm to appoint an AI Associate. This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking investment platform at the forefront of AI adoption, helping embed generative AI across both the fund and its portfolio companies.

Working closely with investment professionals, portfolio management teams and operational leaders, you will identify, develop and implement AI-driven solutions that improve productivity, enhance decision-making and create value across the business. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with up to three years' experience who is passionate about applying generative AI in a commercial environment.

  • Design, build and implement generative AI solutions to improve workflows across the investment team and portfolio companies
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes using AI tools and emerging technologies
  • Collaborate with investment and portfolio teams to deliver practical AI applications that drive efficiency and value creation
  • Evaluate and deploy new AI platforms, models and technologies as they emerge
  • Support the development of AI best practices, governance and adoption across the firm
  • Build AI-powered tools for research, knowledge management, reporting and content generation
  • Where appropriate, support data analysis, data visualisation and analytics projects to improve business insight
  • Stay up to date with developments across generative AI, large language models and automation technologies

Requirements:

  • Up to three years' experience with AI, machine learning, data science, software engineering or a related technical field
  • Hands-on experience building applications using generative AI and large language models
  • Strong understanding of AI tools, APIs and automation technologies
  • Experience with Python and familiarity with modern AI frameworks is highly desirable
  • Exposure to data analysis, business intelligence or analytics projects would be advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business challenges into practical AI solutions
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Genuine interest in private equity, investing and value creation
