Freelance AS/400 (IBM i) Administrator – Outside IR35
Contract: Freelance | Outside IR35
Duration: 12-month retained contract
Commitment: 2-3 days per month
Location: Remote with occasional travel to the client's Manchester office
We're looking for an experienced IBM i / AS400 Administrator to provide ongoing support and maintenance for a business-critical IBM i environment on a retained basis.

- Administer and maintain IBM i (AS400) systems.
- Manage system security, backups, PTFs and OS upgrades.
- Monitor performance and system health.
- Support job scheduling, storage and disaster recovery.
- Troubleshoot IBM i infrastructure and applications.
- Maintain documentation and liaise with third-party vendors when required.
Essential Skills
- Strong IBM i / AS400 / iSeries administration experience.
- IBM i 7.x, CL scripting and security management.
- BRMS, backup and recovery.
- TCP/IP networking, FTP/SFTP and DB2 for i.
- Experience with PTF management and OS upgrades.
- High Availability solutions (PowerHA, MIMIX or similar) desirable.
