Role Description
The Asbestos Analyst and Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in Bristol. The role involves carrying out asbestos surveys across a range of property types, from domestic dwellings to large industrial and infrastructure sites, in accordance with relevant regulations and company procedures. The Asbestos Analyst and Surveyor will prepare risk assessments and method statements, contribute to management plans and reports, and supervise asbestos removal activities when required. The role also includes accurate data entry into electronic asbestos registers, use of mobile and satellite laboratories, and regular communication with clients, project managers, and site personnel to support safe and compliant asbestos management.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in asbestos surveying and analysis, including experience with management and refurbishment/demolition surveys, bulk sample collection, and air fibre monitoring.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and industry standards related to asbestos management, health and safety, and environmental compliance.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and industry software, including tablet PCs, electronic asbestos databases/registers, and customer portals.
- Ability to prepare clear and accurate documentation, such as risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), specifications for removal works, survey reports, and Certificates of Re-occupation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse clients and stakeholders, including public sector bodies, commercial organizations, and contractors.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently on site, manage multiple projects, and maintain attention to detail under varying site conditions.
- Relevant professional qualifications, such as BOHS proficiency modules (e.g., P402, P403, P404) or equivalent, and a full UK driving licence for site travel.
- Previous experience in asbestos consultancy, environmental monitoring, or related fields.
