Are you an experienced asbestos professional looking for a role where you can use your technical expertise to make a real difference while being part of a supportive and collaborative team?
Warwickshire County Council is looking for an Asbestos Compliance Surveyor to join our growing Compliance & Risk Delivery team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping us manage asbestos safety across one of the region's largest and most diverse property portfolios, including schools, offices, community buildings and operational facilities.
This is much more than a surveying role. You'll work closely with project managers, contractors, building managers and stakeholders, providing specialist advice, supporting capital projects and helping to shape the Council's asbestos management strategy.
Why Join Us?
We pride ourselves on being a supportive and highly collaborative team. While each member of the team manages their own workload and specialist areas, we work together to solve problems, share knowledge and support one another. You'll be joining experienced professionals across compliance, health and safety, CDM and property services who genuinely enjoy working together and helping each other succeed. Whether you're dealing with a challenging survey, supporting a project team or looking for advice from a colleague, you'll always have support available.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering asbestos management surveys and re-inspections across the Council's estate.
- Supporting the management and delivery of the asbestos compliance programme.
- Maintaining and developing asbestos records and management systems.
- Providing professional advice to property teams, building managers and contractors.
- Supporting capital projects by identifying and managing asbestos risks.
- Assisting with asbestos-related remedial programmes and project delivery.
- Promoting good asbestos management practices across the organisation.
- Delivering asbestos awareness advice and guidance where required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
