Role Description

The Asbestos Supervisor is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing asbestos removal and related decontamination activities across various project sites. This role includes:

  • Planning and supervising asbestos work scopes
  • Coordinating site teams
  • Ensuring all tasks comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

The Asbestos Supervisor will:

  • Review survey reports and method statements
  • Manage work permits
  • Monitor the proper use of equipment and personal protective gear
  • Communicate with project managers and clients
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports
  • Respond to on-site issues or incidents

Day-to-day activities also involve:

  • Training and mentoring team members
  • Promoting safe work practices
  • Supporting quality assurance procedures throughout decommissioning projects

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in asbestos supervision or asbestos removal management, including oversight of on-site teams and project coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of asbestos regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices for decontamination and hazardous waste handling.
  • Experience within demolition, dismantling, decommissioning, or environmental services, ideally with exposure to industrial or commercial sites.
  • Ability to read and interpret asbestos surveys, risk assessments, method statements, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in report writing, record-keeping, and use of digital tools for remote supervision and documentation.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train, guide, and motivate diverse site teams.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on safe, compliant work practices.
  • Relevant asbestos supervisor or removal certifications and safety training; additional qualifications in environmental management or construction are an advantage.
  • Ability to work remotely while coordinating multiple projects and collaborating with colleagues and clients across different locations.
