At NHS Property Services, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We're committed to creating a workplace where colleagues feel valued, supported, and empowered to make a meaningful impact. As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose NHS estate, we're looking for a qualified Asbestos Surveyor to join our national Asbestos Team covering the Northwest region. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a diverse healthcare property portfolio while helping to keep NHS buildings safe for patients, visitors and colleagues.

About the Role

Working within NHS Property Services national asbestos team, you'll play an important role in shaping asbestos risk management across one of the largest and most diverse property portfolios in the UK.

As an Asbestos Surveyor, you will play a key role in maintaining asbestos compliance across the NHS Property Services estate. You'll undertake asbestos reinspection checks and Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) surveys that support reactive maintenance, estate improvement projects and capital investment programmes.

Working as part of a supportive national team, you'll be responsible for managing your own workload, planning site visits, engaging directly with customers and stakeholders, and producing high-quality survey reports that support safe decision-making across the NHS estate.

This is a predominantly field-based role, with surveyors typically spending four days per week on-site and one day focusing on reporting, planning and administration activities. You'll have the flexibility to manage your own diary and workload while ensuring service delivery requirements are achieved.

Who You Are

You are a motivated and self-sufficient asbestos professional who enjoys working independently while remaining connected to a collaborative and supportive team. You are organised, proactive and confident managing your own workload, balancing site work with report writing and stakeholder engagement.

You have strong technical knowledge, excellent time management skills and are comfortable using digital technology and reporting systems in the field. Most importantly, you're passionate about delivering high standards and making a positive contribution to the safety of NHS environments.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
