Job Title: Asbestos Surveyor

Location: Manchester

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a long-established asbestos consultancy in their search for an experienced Asbestos Surveyor to join their team covering Manchester and the wider North West.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Asbestos Surveyor looking to join a respected consultancy with a strong pipeline of commercial work across the education and healthcare sectors. With the majority of projects based locally across Manchester, Liverpool, and the surrounding areas, this role offers minimal travel disruption, structured scheduling, and the flexibility of a field-based position with home-based administration.

THE ROLE

As an Asbestos Surveyor, you will carry out Management and Refurbishment and Demolition (R and D) asbestos surveys across a range of education and healthcare properties throughout the North West.

Working independently with the support of an experienced operations team, the Asbestos Surveyor will manage a well-planned workload while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with HSG264, current legislation, and HSE guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out Management and Refurbishment and Demolition (R and D) asbestos surveys in accordance with HSG264
  • Surveying schools, hospitals, and healthcare facilities across Manchester, Liverpool, and the wider North West
  • Producing accurate, compliant asbestos survey reports
  • Collecting bulk asbestos samples where required
  • Managing your own diary with support from an established back-office team
  • Liaising professionally with clients and site representatives
  • Ensuring all work complies with current asbestos legislation and HSE guidance

  • BOHS P402 qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience working as an Asbestos Surveyor
  • Strong understanding of asbestos legislation and HSG264
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based role
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and report-writing skills
  • Professional, reliable, and quality-focused approach to work
