Role Description
The Asbestos Surveyor / Quality Manager is a full-time hybrid role based in Edinburgh, with a mix of on-site work across Scotland and some work from home for reporting and management tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Conducting asbestos surveys in domestic and commercial properties
- Collecting and handling samples in line with regulations
- Preparing clear, accurate survey reports
- Overseeing quality management processes
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, guidance, and internal procedures
- Supporting continuous improvement in service delivery

The Asbestos Surveyor / Quality Manager will:
- Liaise with clients and partners
- Coordinate with UKAS-accredited laboratories
- Contribute to training and mentoring of team members
The position requires careful planning of site visits, diligent record-keeping, and proactive communication with the wider team to meet project timelines and client expectations.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- Strong asbestos surveying skills, including experience with management, refurbishment, and demolition surveys in domestic and commercial settings.
- Solid knowledge of asbestos regulations, health and safety standards, and quality management systems relevant to surveying and testing.
- Excellent report-writing and documentation skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and timely survey reports for a range of clients.
- Effective communication and client-facing skills, including the ability to explain technical findings in accessible language and build professional relationships.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including planning site visits, managing multiple projects, and working independently in a hybrid environment.
- Relevant asbestos qualifications (e.g., BOHS P402 or equivalent) and prior experience in asbestos surveying or related environmental/health and safety roles.
- Comfort using digital tools for data collection, report preparation, and remote collaboration.
- Willingness to travel across Scotland as required.
