The Autism Assessment Service
The Autism Assessment Service are looking to recruit to a full-time, Band 6 ASD Practitioner.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Hold a caseload providing specialist assessment, formulation, and therapeutic intervention to children and young people with a suspected Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or with other neurodevelopmental/learning disabilities, complex emotional, psychological, and behavioural difficulties, and their families.
- Provide advice and offer support, consultation, and training to staff within the service and other agencies where appropriate. Effectively liaise with all agencies involved with the service user.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage own clinical caseload and personal programme of continuing professional development. Work autonomously in accordance with professional codes of practice and Trust policies and procedures.
- In consultation and collaboration with the Principal Clinical Psychologist, other team members, and service users, contribute to the ongoing development and provision of services to children and young people with an ASD or suspected to have an ASD.
- Act at all times in accordance with their respective professional bodies Code of Professional Conduct, Trust Policies, and occupational protocols.
- Perform all aspects of the role in accordance with Trust policies and other national bodies.
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with service users, family members (who frequently present with highly distressing and emotional issues), and others involved in the child/young person’s care including professionals from health, education, and social care and other members of non-statutory organisations.
- Provide specialist clinical assessments of children/young people referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members, and others involved in the client’s care.
- Be responsible for implementing a range of specialised therapeutic interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, adjusting and refining formulations as appropriate.
