The Asda Foundation & Community Finance, Systems and Data Advisor plays a key role in delivering robust financial processes, impactful reporting, insight-led decision-making and effective grant management systems. Using data, systems expertise and strategic insight, you will support the Foundation's long-term objectives by maintaining and enhancing key systems, delivering meaningful reporting, ensuring strong governance and finance processes, and helping demonstrate the impact of our community investment. Working across multiple stakeholders, you will translate data into actionable insight that informs decision-making and supports the successful delivery of Asda Foundation and Community programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Governance

  • Support the delivery of grant payment processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance and effective governance.
  • Coordinate payment approvals, Trustee sign-off processes and financial reporting requirements.
  • Support monthly financial reporting and the completion of annual accounts.
  • Lead the transition to digital payment processes and continuous process improvements.
  • Develop governance documentation, including risk registers, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure systems, processes and reporting activities operate in line with governance requirements and regulatory obligations.

Systems & Process Management

  • Lead the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the grant management system, including ownership of the relationship with system providers.
  • Coordinate system enhancements, projects and process improvements, ensuring alignment with organisational and sector best practice.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for grant management systems, ADMS and the donations management process, providing support, guidance and training to colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and user guidance.

Data, Insight & Reporting

  • Produce high-quality analysis, dashboards and reports that demonstrate impact and support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead reporting for the Senior Leadership Team, Trustees and key stakeholders.
  • Provide insight and analysis for annual reports, Trustee updates, impact reports and wider communications.
  • Deliver performance, target and insight reporting to support Asda Foundation and Local Community activity.

Strategy & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the development, implementation and monitoring of strategy through data, evidence and insight.
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities to inform priorities and decision-making.
  • Contribute to the design, delivery and evaluation of grants, programmes and community initiatives.

Team Contribution

  • Play an active role in achieving team objectives and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners to deliver shared outcomes.

What You'll Bring

Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience of financial administration, reporting and governance processes.
  • Experience of managing and developing grant management systems, CRM platforms or similar business systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience of data reporting, performance measurement and insight generation.
  • Experience of producing reports and presenting findings to a range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau or similar reporting and analytics tools.
  • Experience of project management and delivering process or system improvements.
  • Understanding of charitable, community or grant-making environments is desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Takes ownership of priorities and works independently to deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and develops practical solutions.
  • Uses initiative, judgement and insight to make recommendations and drive continuous improvement.
