Asia EM FX Forwards Trader

Our client, a leading international bank, is seeking an experienced Asia EM FX Forwards Trader to join its London-based FX Trading team. This role offers responsibility for trading and risk-managing Asian Emerging Market FX products, with a particular focus on IDR, PHP, and THB markets.

The successful candidate will play a key role in pricing, execution, risk management, and liquidity provision across both Deliverable Forwards and Non-Deliverable Forwards (NDFs), while working closely with sales teams, global trading desks, and institutional clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trade and manage risk across Asian EM FX markets, with coverage of IDR, PH, THB.
  • Provide pricing and liquidity in both NDF and Deliverable FX Forward products.
  • Manage risk within approved limits while contributing to desk profitability.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across Sales, Structuring, and Trading teams.
  • Monitor market developments, economic data, and central bank activity impacting Asian currencies.
  • Identify trading opportunities and execute strategies across spot, forwards, and related FX products.
  • Support the continued growth of the Asia FX franchise from London.

Requirements

  • Experience trading Asian FX products within a bank or regulated financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of IDR, PHP, and THB markets and associated market conventions.
  • Proven experience trading FX Forwards, including both NDF and Deliverable products.
  • Strong understanding of market risk management, pricing, and execution.
  • Ability to operate within a fast-paced, client-focused trading environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
