Role Description
Due to the continued growth of our business, we’re looking for experienced and motivated Machine Lay Surfacing Gangs and Asphalt Operatives to join our Site Operations team in Derby, as we deliver high-quality projects across a variety of sectors, including highways, aviation, commercial and major infrastructure.

As a member of a surfacing gang, you will work as part of a skilled team consisting of a Foreman, Plant Operators and Asphalt Operatives, and play a key role in delivering asphalt surfacing works safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivering machine and hand lay surfacing across a variety of projects
- Laying, levelling and compacting asphalt materials
- Operating paving and compacting equipment safely and effectively
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality
- Working to daily programmes and production targets
- Following Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) procedures
Ideal candidates will have:
- Valid CSCS card
- Relevant plant operator tickets
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Proven experience in asphalt surfacing
- Strong health and safety awareness
- Good communication skills
