A unique Specialist School in Gloucester is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team in October. All the pupils at the school have diagnosed social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as associated challenging behaviours and adverse childhood experiences. The school is therefore looking for a Graduate or experienced worker who is knowledgeable about Psychology or Criminology, passionate about helping young people, and interested in a career in Youth Engagement.

This Specialist School has a deep focus on addressing the educational, social, and therapeutic needs of each student, focusing on individual happiness and well-being where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The ideal Learning Support Assistant will have excellent interpersonal skills, resilience, empathy, and previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will help to identify and overcome any learning barriers that the students face, and help build self-esteem, social skills, and emotional resilience. You will also implement positive behaviour strategies, with the help of the class teacher and multi-therapy teams, and motivate the students to make appropriate choices.
