Assembler (Solutions Team) – BSC Filters (York, UK)
About the Role
Connecting and protecting people through engineered microwaves—that’s the mission of Microwave Products Group (MPG), a global leader in critical electronic components and subsystems. Known brands include BSC Filters (York, UK), Criteria Labs, Dow-Key Microwave, Pole/Zero, Espy, and K&L Microwave.
As a leading designer and manufacturer of custom RF & microwave filters, BSC Filters serves defence, communications, aerospace, space, and infrastructure industries where precision and reliability are paramount.
We’re now looking to grow our Solutions team with a new Assembler, joining a highly skilled, customer-focused team that builds components to connect and protect globally.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Assemble precision electronic parts – Build filters (including SMD components) while following:
- Specification sheets
- Production and engineering drawings
- Detailed work instructions

✔ Adhere to strict timeframes – Quality assembly for all filter process stages.
✔ Use precision equipment safely – Work with:
- Microscopes
- Solder dispensers
- Soldering irons
- Tweezers
- Cutters & scalpels
- Screwdrivers
- Hot plates, ovens & heat guns
✔ Fault finding & troubleshooting – Identify, document, and (where possible) resolve defects to maintain high standards.
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience or interest in soldering, model-making, disassembly/reassembly.
- Technical confidence & organisation – Passionate about learning processes to deliver consistent quality.
- Precision & patience – Methodical, detail-oriented, and thorough in assembly/adjustment.
- Problem-solving mindset – Supports troubleshooting, fault identification, and corrective action.
- High attention to tidiness – Clean work area is non-negotiable.
- Strong team player – Wishes to drive continuous improvement and meet targets collaboratively.
