Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: £13.70 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week + overtime available
About The Role
We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assembly Operator to join a busy and growing manufacturing team in Poole, Dorset.
This is a hands-on position involving the assembly of push-button units and a variety of electronic and mechanical components. Working from technical drawings, diagrams and assembly instructions, you will use hand tools and carry out basic wiring to produce high-quality products that meet production and quality standards.
This role would suit candidates with previous experience in assembly, production, manufacturing, electrical assembly or electromechanical environments who enjoy working with precision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble push-button units and electronic/mechanical components to specification
- Carry out basic wiring and electrical assembly tasks
- Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams and written instructions
- Use a variety of hand tools safely and effectively
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
- Identify, report and escalate any defects or production issues
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
- Work efficiently to production schedules and performance targets
- Support team objectives and continuous improvement activities

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience within an assembly, production or manufacturing environment
- Confidence using a range of hand tools
- The ability to read and follow technical drawings and assembly instructions
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Basic computer skills
- A reliable, conscientious and proactive approach to work
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous wiring or electrical assembly experience
- Experience assembling push-button units
- Mechanical or electromechanical assembly experience
Hours & Benefits
- £13.70 per hour
- 37.5 hours per week
- Overtime opportunities available
- Flexible start times between 6:30am and 9:30am
- Flexible finish times between 3:30pm and 6:30pm depending on start time
- Option to finish at 12:30pm on Fridays
