The Company

Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester.

This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.

Jonathan Lee Workforce Solutions are the preferred supplier to Mazak.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assembly Supervisor to join our Assembly department working on permanent lates, with potential to support shift working as and when required.

Job Description

  • Maintain 0 accidents and HSE standards whilst fostering a culture of safety first.
  • Reporting of accident/near misses through correct documentation.
  • Immediate contact to managers if accidents occur.
  • Maintain 5S standards and housekeeping across all assembly lines.
  • Produce and implement at least 1 safety initiative project per month.
  • Data collection of machine amendments for supporting department.
  • Problem solving and reporting of quality issues on assembly lines for late shift.
  • Creation and distribution of internal CSIRs for quality issues on late shift.
  • Reporting and control of quality issues on externally sourced parts for late shift.
  • Conduct quality audits across all assembly lines.
  • Maintaining daily production plan, ensuring all targets are achieved and reporting any failures and reasons.
  • Work alongside line team leaders to achieve daily plans and targets, and to create immediate recovery plans.
  • Produce daily handover for managers/supervisors.
  • Coordinate late shift reviews with PMC team.
  • Control of supply section deliveries and reporting on performance.
  • Promote and foster cross training and flexibility across teams collaboratively with other team supervisors (Working with day shift supervisor).
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost and implement accordingly through kaizen tools.
  • Ensure any scrap or rework is processed correctly.
  • Updating of lost time tracker.
  • Ordering of lost or scrap parts through correct system.
  • Motivate the team to deliver and work together to achieve monthly and annual targets.
  • Issue care points/performance improvements plans to underperforming staff.
  • Once a month produce and present SQDCP improvements.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in leading teams at a similar level.
  • Proof points for past achievement of SQDCP objectives.
  • I.T literate (Power point, Excel).
  • ERP knowledge.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Mazak product knowledge.
  • Technical experience with Mazak Machine Tools.
  • Engineering qualifications.
