Assembly Team Leader (2 Positions Available)
Location: Gloucester
Salary: Competitive
Benefits: Shifts: Rotating Shifts 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm

We are recruiting two Assembly Team Leaders to join a busy and growing kitchen manufacturing business. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a well-established assembly operation, lead a team, and make a real impact on performance, quality, and people development.
The Role
Reporting into the Assembly Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a team within the assembly department, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently achieved.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be expected to motivate your team, solve problems quickly, and use your initiative to keep production flowing efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching, and motivating assembly operatives across your shift
- Delegating workload and ensuring tasks are completed effectively
- Managing day-to-day team performance and productivity
- Supporting holiday planning, absence management, and disciplinary processes
- Ensuring the smooth flow of the assembly line and identifying any issues that could impact production
- Working closely with management to resolve operational challenges
- Monitoring stock availability and supporting efficient material flow
- Reviewing technical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) where required
- Driving continuous improvement and sharing best practices across shifts
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping

About You
We're looking for a confident and proactive leader who can hit the ground running and positively influence both people and performance.
You'll ideally have:
- 2-3 years' experience in a Team Leader, Shift Leader, or Supervisory role
- Experience managing teams within a manufacturing, assembly, production, or engineering environment
- Strong people management skills and the ability to gain team buy-in
- Experience dealing with day-to-day employee matters including attendance, holidays, and performance management
- The confidence to make decisions and resolve issues independently
- Exposure to production drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) would be advantageous
- An understanding of manufacturing flow lines, stock control, and production processes is highly desirable
