About The Role

As an Assembly Technician based in our Omagh facility, you will be at the heart of our operations, building the innovative roads and infrastructure equipment that connects the world. Reporting to the Production Lead, you will play a crucial role in safely assembling, fitting, and installing components to create subassemblies and complete Astec machines. You will work from detailed engineering drawings, digital models, and production instructions, ensuring all operations meet our high standards for safety, quality, cost, and delivery. As an Assembly Technician, your day-to-day will be dynamic and hands-on. You'll be immersed in our manufacturing environment, using a variety of hand, power, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools to bring complex engineering designs to life. You will collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. This role isn't just about assembly; it's about problem-solving, ensuring quality, and maintaining a safe and organised workspace.

Required Criteria

  • Relevant experience in mechanical assembly, heavy equipment manufacturing, engineering, construction, agriculture, or vehicle maintenance.
  • Sound mechanical aptitude and confidence in using hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, digital models, schematics, and written work instructions.
  • Proven experience completing mechanical assembly work to defined safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Ability to identify defects, solve routine problems, and perform adjustments or rework.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to a 'right-first-time' quality approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Clear communication skills for reporting concerns, asking questions, and documenting work.
  • Adaptability to different operations, products, and production priorities.

Desired Criteria

  • Relevant vocational or engineering qualification.
  • Authorisation to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, or other lifting equipment.
