Salary:
Starting from £49,519 (depending on experience)
Location:
Peterborough, UK

We are seeking an ambitious and driven Maintenance Manager to lead our Assembly, Test and Finish maintenance function and play a key role in delivering our Modern Manufacturing strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to drive equipment reliability, champion new technologies, and develop a high-performing team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As Maintenance Manager, you will lead the implementation of world-class maintenance practices, leveraging digital solutions, automation, predictive maintenance, data analytics, and emerging technologies to improve asset performance, productivity, and operational excellence. You will work closely with production, engineering, and business leaders to create a safer, smarter, and more efficient operation.
What You Will Do
- Lead and develop a skilled maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute a strategy to drive equipment reliability and asset performance through proactive and predictive maintenance.
- Champion the adoption of modern manufacturing technologies, digital maintenance tools, automation, and data-driven decision making.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions that improve uptime, reduce costs, and enhance operational performance.
- Lead root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate recurring equipment issues.
- Manage maintenance planning, scheduling, budgets, and resource allocation to support business objectives.
- Develop talent, build technical capability, and create clear development pathways for team members.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Degree Requirement
- Degree or equivalent experience desired
What You Will Have
- Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM): Knowledge of total productive maintenance principles, methods, and processes; ability to maximize machinery effectiveness through active involvement of all supporting departments.
- Level Working Knowledge:
- Maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in reliability, preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Passion for technology, innovation, and modern manufacturing principles.
- Proven ability to improve equipment uptime, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
- Demonstrate success in developing high-performing technical teams.
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Level Working Knowledge:
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Level Working Knowledge:
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Level Working Knowledge:
- Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
- Level Working Knowledge:
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Level Working Knowledge:
- Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
- Level Working Knowledge:
- Experience implementing reliability, asset management, continuous improvement, or digital maintenance initiatives.

- Demonstrate a technical understanding of one or more of the following: Fanuc Robots, Siemens Control systems and PLC, CNC Machining, production conveyor systems and/or paint facilities,
- Show an understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Have experience of leading leaders
