AAC Clyde Space is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our production team and support the build and integration of our satellite platforms and subsystems.
In this role, you will be working part of the production team using handheld tools to assemble printed circuit boards, or assemblies for the cube satellite market, according to specified procedures and standards. You will follow detailed engineering drawings, procedures, and work instructions to ensure all assemblies meet required quality and performance standards.
This is a practical, hands-on position that involves working closely with engineering, quality, and test teams to deliver reliable, flight-ready products. You will contribute to continuous improvement activities within the production environment and help maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workspace.
Given the nature of the role, it is based full-time on the site.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver work tasks and assignments in accordance with required standards, quality, budget and timescales
- Perform dexterity-based tasks including subsystem assembly, soldering and similar
- Provide functional input to inform production
- Keep processes and procedures up to date
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders and their expectations to ensure their continued support
Skills Required
- Experience in hand soldering surface mount components
- Experience in using PCB layout and schematics
- Experience in assembling products in a production environment
- IPC trained electronics assembler.
- Ability to accurately identify electronic components, polarity markings and correct placement per designated locations on PCBAs.
- Good understanding of manufacturing documentation (i.e. Bill of materials, assembly drawings, PCB files, etc.)
- Detail-oriented, focused, and meticulous.
- Physical dexterity.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
- Ability to make good decisions under highly demanding, dynamic environment
- Ability to organise self and prioritise workload with multiple projects in dynamic environment with tight deadlines
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft software
- Proficient in English, both verbally and written

Skills Desired
- Previous experience of working with small/medium sized company
- Previous experience in electronic industry, ideally the space industry
- Certification or knowledge of IPC-610 and J-STD-001
- Harness assembly experience
