The Role
Our supportive and inclusive Financial Assessments and Benefits team is committed to providing excellent support and customer service to our clients. What you’ll do:
- Conduct financial assessments via telephone, online, or in-person visits, tailoring your communication style to meet the diverse needs of clients.
- Accurately calculate clients' contributions towards the cost of care services provided by Hampshire County Council and explain complex calculations with compassion, care, and diplomacy.
- Identify and support clients with potential welfare benefits claims.
- Remain calm and professional when faced with emotional responses during challenging conversations.
- Work flexibly across a wide geographical area, making best use of homeworking and council hubs.
What we’re looking for
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong empathy and the ability to handle emotional responses with care.
- Professionalism and diplomacy in all client interactions.
- First-class numeracy skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence in working independently and using IT skills to enhance your work efficiency.
- Previous experience of accurately dealing with complex financial information and awareness of personal finance products.
