Assessment and Selection Specialist – Fixed Term
Manchester, London, Leeds, Brighton, Staines – flexible, hybrid
Fixed Term circa 9 – 12 months
Full time 37.5 hours per week
Salary £38000 - £47400 depending on experience

The role
You’ll support the delivery and continuous improvement of assessment and selection solutions across Bupa. Working closely with the Assessment and Selection Manager, recruiters, HR stakeholders, and hiring managers, you’ll help to ensure selection processes are fair, evidence-based, inclusive, and aligned to business needs.
You’ll contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of assessment solutions and provide operational and technical support to enable high-quality, evidence-based talent decisions.
How you’ll help us make health happen
- Provide assessment and selection support to recruiters, hiring managers, and other stakeholders, helping to identify and implement appropriate assessment solutions for recruitment and talent activities.
- Support the delivery of assessment and selection projects, contributing to activities across the assessment lifecycle including design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the Assessment and Selection Manager to promote a consistent and evidence-based approach to hiring across Bupa, supporting the implementation and adoption of assessment frameworks, tools, and processes.
- Support initiatives that promote fair and inclusive recruitment practices, including monitoring assessment outcomes and assisting with reviews of diversity and inclusion metrics.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret assessment data to support the evaluation of assessment effectiveness, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Support the delivery of training, guidance, and resources for recruiters, hiring managers, and assessors to help build capability and confidence in fair and effective selection practices.
- Keep up to date with developments in occupational psychology, assessment methodologies, and recruitment trends, sharing insights and recommendations with the wider team.
- Support the administration of assessment suppliers, including purchase orders, invoicing, usage monitoring, and recharge processes where required.
- Assist in the design and delivery of assessment solutions for recruitment, internal talent, development, and capability programmes.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the business, translating occupational psychology principles into practical, user-friendly solutions and guidance.
- Deliver psychometric assessment feedback to candidates and stakeholders where appropriate, ensuring feedback is clear, professional, and development-focused.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of assessment materials, interview guides, assessment centre exercises, and supporting documentation.
- Provide support to other members of the Assessment & Selection team and contribute to team projects and priorities as required.
- Support the delivery of positive candidate experiences by ensuring assessment processes are accessible, engaging, professional, and aligned to best practice.

You
- A qualification and/or equivalent experience in Occupational Psychology.
- Sound experience working with assessment and selection activities within recruitment, talent, HR, or occupational psychology environments.
- Experience evaluating and interpreting assessment data and producing insights, including validation, adverse impact, and trend analysis.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholder requests and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of assessment and selection methodologies, including advantages and limitations.
- Understanding of assessment validity, reliability, fairness, and candidate experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret assessment data and draw meaningful insights.
- Effective, confident stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles within assessment and selection.
- Experience using data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel and Power BI.
- Understanding of assessment platforms and recruitment technologies.
