About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly formed Assessments and Awards team within Academic Registry. We are seeking an organised, detail-focused, and stakeholder-oriented Assessments and Awards Team Leader to join our team. The Team Leader role plays a vital part in ensuring the effective delivery of assessments and awards processes, supporting the team, students, and academic colleagues throughout the academic year.

Reporting to the Assessments and Awards Manager, you will lead and manage the delivery of the work of the Assessments and Awards Team including BU partner institutions, Professional Statutory and Regulatory Bodies, and representation at any relevant working groups within Academic Services. Main responsibilities include managing the organisation of the Assessment Boards, assessment processes including exams, Awards Ceremonies, and line management of individuals within the Assessments and Awards Team.

A sound understanding of Higher Education academic policies, procedures, and processes will be required. Evidence of understanding team leadership and development will need to be demonstrated. Strong administration and communication skills, attention to detail, and confidence working with systems and deadlines are essential.

About The Department

The Assessments and Awards Team is part of the Academic Registry Department within Academic Services. Academic Services creates an enabling academic environment, which shares expertise, builds capabilities, and inspires stakeholders through sector-leading, user-centred processes, and outstanding service delivery.
