Summary
A Key Role at the Heart of Our Manufacturing Excellence
The Role
Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the Asset Care Engineer will play a key role in maintaining the site infrastructure and ensuring a safe, reliable, and compliant working environment across our food production facility.
The role is responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, routine repairs, and reactive maintenance activities, helping to minimize downtime and ensure our production and engineering teams have the reliable facilities and equipment they need to operate effectively.
Rotating Shift Pattern
- Week 1: Monday to Friday 0600-1400
- Week 2: Monday to Friday 1400-2200
Your Key Responsibilities
- To undertake basic remedial plumbing work
- To undertake remedial joinery work
- To undertake basic remedial painting & decorating work
- To undertake basic remedial fabrication work
- Repair and/or replace ceramic tiles and suspended ceiling tiles
- To check all factory lighting on a weekly basis and replace as required
- To inspect building infrastructure and undertake elementary repairs and corrective maintenance
- To take full responsibility for the upkeep and husbandry of areas where working and the storage of hand tools
- To communicate daily with the progress of work to the Engineering Manager / Engineering Shift Leader
- To uphold consistency of approach to working procedures in line with all company policies, procedures, and best practice
- To take ownership of housekeeping under the clean as you go policy for your own area specifically and across all areas generally
- To undertake any other reasonable duties within the overall function equal with the level of responsibility for the post as directed by your immediate Line Manager
- Knowledge and compliance of all Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
- Assist with the training and development of others where appropriate
- Knowledge of and compliance with all Company Policies, Procedures and Rules and the Karro Code of Conduct
- Undertake any additional responsibilities as required

The Ideal Candidate
- Experience of joinery work
- Understanding of FMCG industry
- Experience of successfully managing tasks/projects to completion
- Computer Literate
