Shape the future of asset data at Cadent

At Cadent, we're transforming the way we manage and use asset data. As an Asset Data Analyst working within our East Midlands network, you'll join a highly technical and specialist team responsible for the oversight, analysis and continual improvement of our Asset Data Integrity.

This is a unique opportunity to help develop asset data into a strategic asset in its own right. Using data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, you'll play a key role in improving the quality, accuracy and value of information that supports the safe and efficient operation of one of the UK's largest gas networks.

Working closely with operational teams, asset specialists and data experts, you'll help shape our future capability while supporting the delivery of Cadent's Asset Data Strategy.

Why you'll love this role

  • Supporting Asset Data Strategy by helping to improve the quality, integrity and value of asset data across the business.
  • Analysing asset datasets to identify trends, data quality issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Exploring advanced technologies including analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance asset data management.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define data requirements, improve data standards and deliver improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitating data improvement activities including data cleansing, audits and assurance to ensure asset information remains accurate and fit for purpose.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and achieve common objectives.
  • Supporting business planning, forecasting and budget-setting activities through the extraction, analysis and interpretation of asset and operational data.
  • Producing regular and ad hoc management information, reports and insights to support risk reviews, HAZOP meetings and investment decision-making.
  • Supporting the management of engineering and asset-related programmes, including tracking actions, identifying opportunities, monitoring progress and maintaining governance records.
  • Delivering trend analysis and performance reporting to identify opportunities for proactive interventions, workload optimisation and risk reduction.
  • Maintaining and enhancing asset management trackers, operational performance data and financial information to support forecasting, regulatory reporting and strategic decision-making.
  • Supporting data-driven asset investment planning activities, including annual screening exercises, programme prioritisation and risk-based decision making.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
