Asset Data Officer

Horley / Edinburgh | £44.4k - £55.5k per annum (Depending on skills and qualifications)
Full-time | Hybrid

We are seeking an Asset Data Officer to support the management, quality and governance of asset data across our network. Working within the Asset Engineering team, you will help ensure that asset information is accurately captured, maintained and available to support operational, engineering and regulatory requirements.

In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining asset records, validating and updating data within core asset management systems, and supporting the administration of key asset data processes. You'll work closely with engineering, operational and project teams to ensure asset information remains accurate, consistent and compliant with company standards.

  • Update and maintain asset data within our asset management systems following maintenance activities and construction projects.
  • Monitor and improve data quality by investigating and correcting inaccuracies in asset records.
  • Produce reports and technical data outputs to support operational and engineering decision-making.
  • Support the continuous improvement of asset management systems, processes and data governance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure asset information remains accurate, consistent and compliant.

What you will need

  • Experience working with asset, engineering, operational or technical data, with strong attention to detail and a focus on data quality.
  • Experience maintaining records and data within business, asset management or maintenance systems.
  • Good understanding of GIS and spatial data systems, with experience using mapping-based software to manage and analyse asset information.
  • Ability to interpret processes, procedures and technical documentation, ensuring activities are completed accurately and consistently.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve data issues.

Desirable

  • A degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Engineering, Geography, GIS, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within utilities, infrastructure, engineering, construction or asset-intensive environments.
  • Experience using GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or similar spatial data systems.
  • Understanding of asset management, maintenance or engineering processes.
