The Role
The Asset Engineer will have delegated responsibility for carrying out Governance Management for all Buildings and Structures across the TfW Asset Portfolio.
Role Responsibilities
- Take delegated responsibilities for Buildings and Civils (B&C) Asset Policies and Strategic Objectives by working with the Senior Asset Engineer, the Head of Rail Asset Management and Data Managers to integrate policies and procedures into an Asset Management and Asset System Framework.
- Review ‘Renewal' and ‘Enhancement' engineering deliverables by ensuring that work is correctly prioritised within budgetary constraints. Support the Senior Asset Engineer (B&C) in identifying renewal and enhancement opportunities and challenges.
- Take delegated responsibilities for ensuring that the Infrastructure Manager's renewals and maintenance plans meet TfW's Asset Policy and Strategic Objectives by delivering value for money for the Welsh Government.
- Responsible for subject matter risk mitigations, engineering compliance and health & safety considerations by working with the Senior Asset Engineer to evaluate risks and mitigations relevant to the discipline to ensure TfW have an active approach to assurance to safeguard the Welsh Government's investment.

Who We're Looking For
- Be Masters or Postgraduate qualified and working towards Chartership in an area such as Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, or have equivalent experience.
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the transport industry.
- The ability to review design works information and temporary works design submissions.
- Experience of inspection and remote condition monitoring systems to support and assure safe and efficient asset management.
- Knowledge and experience of highway and or railway standards.
Welsh Language Skills
While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
