Asset Engineer

Location: York
Contract: 5 months
Rate: £427 per day (Inside IR35)

We are looking for an experienced Asset Engineer / Earthworks Examiner to carry out earthwork examinations across the operational railway.

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out earthwork and slope examinations.
  • Work safely on the operational railway.
  • Complete examination records and reports accurately.
  • Use systems including JBA Database and GizMapp.
  • Follow railway safety procedures, including possessions, line blocks and separated working.
  • Plan and organise your workload to meet deadlines.
  • Work with other teams and communicate effectively.

What You’ll Need

  • COSS or IWA competency.
  • Level 3 competency in:
    • Soil Slope Examinations (GEO-I-S)
    • Rock Slope Examinations (GEO-I-R)
  • Experience producing examinations to CIV/065 standard.
  • Experience using JBA Database and GizMapp.
  • Good knowledge of railway geography and safe systems of work.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
  • Good communication and IT skills.
