Deputy Team Lead – Asset Experience Services, Royal London Property Delivery

About the Role
As Deputy Team Lead for the Asset Experience Services team within JLL's Royal London Property Delivery, you will provide leadership focused on the operational specialism, while maintaining a hands-on "day job" delivery of health & safety, compliance, and operational support to Asset Experience Managers across Royal London-managed assets. This dual-purpose role combines:
- Team leadership responsibilities
- Direct operational delivery
- Strategic oversight of operational functions
- Practical expertise in health & safety (H&S), supplier coordination, works management, and ESG support
You will support the Team Leader in driving service excellence, act as their deputy during absences, and serve as the technical expert for operational matters. You’ll enable Asset Experience Managers to deliver best-in-class occupier service while maintaining safety compliance and operational efficiency, across the Royal London portfolio.
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the Asset Experience Services Team Leader
- Collaborative relationships with Asset Experience Managers and the Deputy Team Lead
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management (Operational Focus)
- Support the Team Leader’s line management of operational specialists, including:
- Coaching and mentoring
- Performance feedback and development planning
- Serve as deputy to the Team Leader, taking full leadership responsibility during absences, in coordination with the Deputy Team Lead (Technical Specialism)
- Be the lead escalation point for complex operational matters, including:
- Health & safety compliance
- Statutory obligations
- Supplier performance issues
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing within the operational team, ensuring best practices are adopted and consistent approaches are maintained
- Monitor and ensure the quality of operational outputs, including:
- Risk registers
- Compliance documentation
- Audit readiness
- Supplier management
- Support team members in technical problem-solving, quality control, and professional development within operational disciplines
- Coordinate resource allocation and workload distribution across operational specialists to ensure balanced capacity and timely delivery
- Ensure alignment with the currently in-effect JD for Asset Experience Central ServiceOp role

Skills & Qualifications
Technical Knowledge
Proven experience in:
✅ Property operations, health & safety management, compliance, and supplier coordination
✅ Effectively implementing H&S legislation applicable to property management
✅ Understanding critical statutory compliance requirements, including:
- Fire safety compliance
- Asbestos management
- Building regulations
✅ Familiarity with:
- Permit-to-work systems
- Risk assessment methodologies
- Safe systems of work
✅ Knowledge of:
- Building services
- Maintenance operations
- Planned preventative maintenance
✅ Awareness of:
- ISO14001 (Quality Management Systems)
- Audit processes
✅ Defence of ESG and sustainability requirements in property management:
- EPC regulations
- Energy management
Essential Software Proficiencies:
- Property management software platforms
- Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Personal Attributes
- Strong leadership presence, capable of:
- Inspiring and supporting operational specialists while maintaining hands-on delivery
- Balancing dual responsibilities of team leadership and operational excellence

Exceptional attention to detail for:
- HRMS (health & safety transactions)
- Compliance, documentation, and risk management

- Explain technical health & safety and operational matters accessibly to non-experts
- Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive, safety-focused team culture
