This is a unique opportunity to shape our understanding of asset priorities, the business wide processes that provide the information and how this is managed and utilised across one of the UK's most critical infrastructure networks.
What You'll Do
- Lead a specialist team responsible for asset health, condition monitoring and asset insights.
- Develop and deliver National Grid's long-term condition monitoring and asset health strategy.
- Define the standards, processes and governance that support the collection and management of asset health information.
- Improve the quality, availability and integrity of asset health information used to inform business-critical decisions.
- Act as the intelligent customer for asset data requirements, working closely with Digital and Data teams to enhance systems, reporting and data capture processes.
- Ensure asset health data provides a trusted basis for investment planning, asset risk assessments and regulatory submissions.
- Oversee the ongoing development and governance of the asset health index and associated performance measures.
- Assess and prioritise opportunities for new condition monitoring technologies, data sources and analytical approaches.
- Work closely with Asset Strategy, Risk Modelling, Engineering and Operations teams to ensure our understanding of asset health supports effective decision making.
- Drive continuous improvement across asset information, data governance and condition monitoring processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
