Asset Integrity Engineer

Altrad Integrity Services are currently looking for an Asset Integrity Engineer to join the business to lead the safe, efficient and effective delivery of integrity engineering services for a specified offshore installation. This role is responsible for providing technical assurance to both onshore and offshore teams, ensuring compliance with legislation, industry standards and company Integrity Management Systems while supporting the effective management of major accident hazards and asset integrity performance.

Key Deliverables

  • Act as the primary Integrity Engineering Focal Point for assigned offshore asset contracts.
  • Lead the implementation, monitoring and continual improvement of Integrity Management Systems for designated assets.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant HSE legislation, company procedures and industry best practice.
  • Support clients in meeting the requirements of the Offshore Installation (Safety Case) Regulations 2005 (SCR05).
  • Coordinate and oversee integrity risk management activities, including fitness-for-purpose assessments and anomaly management.
  • Manage integrity programmes relating to pressure systems, structural assets and subsea pipeline equipment.
  • Prioritise inspection scopes and define Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) requirements based on risk and asset condition.
  • Work closely with Discipline Engineers and Offshore Inspection Engineers (OIEs) to ensure robust inspection outputs and technical assessments.
  • Coordinate integrity strategies and ensure timely implementation of agreed inspection and repair programmes.
  • Champion a proactive approach to asset integrity management, driving continuous improvement and reducing operational risk.
  • Ensure integrity-related processes, procedures and assurance activities are consistently applied across the contract.
  • Act as custodian of integrity quality (IQ) processes, anomaly registers and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate daily communication and technical support for Offshore Inspection Engineers.
  • Monitor the quality and accuracy of inspection reports to ensure Risk-Based Assessment (RBA) systems remain current and effective.
  • Provide technical integrity input to new projects and modifications where required.
  • Review integrity history, identify trends and ensure lessons learned are implemented across the asset.
  • Liaise with technical authorities and client stakeholders to support effective decision-making and risk management.
  • Prepare and coordinate annual Asset Integrity Status Reports and periodic integrity summaries.
  • Monitor and report integrity Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring contractual and regulatory requirements are achieved.
  • Maintain integrity action tracking systems and historical records of asset-related issues.
  • Produce monthly integrity status reports, highlighting cumulative process safety risks and recommending prioritised mitigation actions.
  • Support regulatory compliance activities, audits and post-incident investigations where required.
  • Promote Altrad's Safer Together culture by ensuring robust HSEQ management and compliance across all activities.
  • Support recruitment, competency development and training of integrity personnel.
  • Attend project meetings, pre-project briefings and client reviews, ensuring delivery milestones are achieved.

Key Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Integrity Management within the offshore oil and gas or energy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Process Safety, Technical Safety and the Management of Major Accident Hazards (MAH).
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Offshore Installation (Safety Case) Regulations 2005 (SCR05).
  • Proven experience managing integrity programmes for pressure systems, structural assets and subsea pipeline equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of Risk-Based Assessment (RBA), Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), fitness-for-purpose assessments and anomaly management.
  • Technical expertise in inspection, corrosion management, protective coatings, cathodic protection, chemical treatment, sour service materials and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
  • Experience acting as a client focal point and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulatory requirements, industry guidance and best practice.
  • Excellent communication, technical report writing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver against demanding project schedules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer status or membership of a recognised Engineering Institution.
  • HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) systems.
  • Knowledge of Integrity Management Systems and associated business processes.
  • Active involvement with industry bodies such as Step Change in Safety, Energy Institute or relevant Oil & Gas forums.
  • Knowledge of international engineering codes and standards including ASME, API, DNV and British Standards.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel offshore approximately once per quarter.
