Role Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Vice President in the Technology & Media sector. The role will be a combination of supporting and co-covering the sector with the senior analyst as well as initiating on own coverage. This is a critically important role for our business: it influences billions of dollars in client funds and has the potential to generate significant investment returns, driven by our fundamental and long-term focused investment process.
The role centers on conducting long-term fundamental research to produce differentiated investment insights and communicating those insights effectively to our Portfolio Manager partners. Success in this role is measured by your ability to generate alpha on a long-term basis, forecast effectively, and communicate with clarity and conviction. You must be willing to take risk. The ideal candidate pairs the discipline to conduct detailed, insightful research with a genuine passion for investing.
JP Morgan believes that in-house research is our competitive edge. As a result, the role is well supported by a collegial, global network of analysts across the same sector, alongside dedicated technology, data, and junior support. Our investment process balances a structured research framework with a high degree of autonomy in how analysts approach their work. Our focus is fundamental and long-term, while remaining attuned to near-term developments that impact our forecasts.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
