Asset Management Lead

We are seeking an experienced Asset Management Lead on a 3 month contract to take ownership of an organisation's IT asset management capability, ensuring a comprehensive and accurate view of all hardware, software, supplier, and contract-related assets across the estate.

This is a high-profile role responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the organisation's Configuration Management Database (CMDB), whilst implementing best-practice asset management processes that support operational excellence, governance, compliance, and cost optimisation.

You will act as the subject matter expert for IT Asset Management, working closely with Technology Leadership, Service Management, Finance, Procurement, and wider business stakeholders to ensure assets are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of the organisation's IT asset portfolio, covering both hardware and software assets.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve IT Asset Management policies, standards, and processes.
  • Design and deliver an IT Asset Lifecycle Strategy covering acquisition, deployment, utilisation, maintenance, retirement, and disposal.
  • Maintain an accurate and reliable CMDB, ensuring processes are in place to support ongoing data quality and governance.
  • Act as the organisation's IT Asset Management expert, providing guidance and best practice across the business.
  • Optimise software licensing usage and expenditure through regular audits and compliance reviews.
  • Conduct audits of hardware and software assets to ensure records remain accurate, current, and aligned to operational requirements.
  • Establish and manage asset reporting capabilities, providing meaningful insight into asset status, utilisation, and lifecycle planning.
  • Oversee the procurement, tracking, security, retirement, and disposal of IT assets.
  • Partner with Supplier and Contract Management teams to align software renewals and re-procurement activities with contractual and licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with Finance colleagues to support the capitalisation, depreciation, and financial management of IT assets.
  • Contribute to broader Service Management and continual improvement initiatives across the technology function.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
